Causes For Failures of 1857 Sepoy Revolt - First War of Independence
The modern national war are also known as 1857 sepoy revolt was a failure due to the up springs were not reached to the South and rest of east India.There are some reasons for the failures of 1857 war.
Lack of Unity In Princely States
The only 2
to 3 percentage of princely states, Zamindars and others were involved in 1857
revolt, remaining kings, zamindars and heads of princely states were feared of
british for past war experiences with them, some of them were loyal to British
for their individual benefits.
Educated Indians Supported English East Company
The modern
educated Indians also did not support the revolt because, in their view, the
revolt was backward-looking. This educated middle class was the product of the
British system of education and they believed mistakenly that the British would
lead the country towards modernization also they contributed in eliminating
social evils and caste dominance.
Lack of Military Leadership
The only 2
to 3 percentage of kings were contributed but there is no certain military leadership
in doing the activities and lack of modernization war equipments to defeat the
English East Company.
